The following steps are carried out during this process. 1. When the customer has presented the card, the number of the card and all the relevant information is given to the processing machine which can be a computer or a terminal.
2. All the information that has been entered goes through the network with the request to withdraw the amount of the purchases done. This amount will be deducted from the customers account.
3. Then the processor establishes a link with the terminal or the computer and generates a request to the bank.
4. Then the bank verifies the card number and also that there is sufficient balance in the customers account to make the transaction.
5. Thus the transaction is done and the left over amount is kept as balance.
6. As the whole process gets completed, a response is send to the terminal from where the request was generated.
7. Thus all the transactions that are made in a day are collected and secured. Then whatever amount left is deposited into the account.
